Search on latitude and longitude fields

You can search the latitude and longitude of sites and places.

You can search on latitude and longitude in these files:

Steps

  1. Click Advanced on the toolbar to open Advanced Search.

  2. In the list of Search Fields, select your field and click Next

    • In the Object file, select Field Collection Lat/Long.

    • In the Site file, select Latitude/Longitude.

    • In the Place file, select Latitude/Longitude.

  3. In the Geographic Retrieval window, enter the coordinates.

    • Latitude coordinates must be entered from the South to the North. For example:

      • Latitude From: 40° South

      • Latitude To: 20° South

    • Longitude ranges must be entered from the West to the East. For example:

      • Longitude From: 120° West

      • Longitude To: 80° West

  4. In Search Type, select an option:

    • Contained: This option searches for coordinates that lie only between the range you entered.

    • Mostly: This option searches for coordinates where the central point of the area is within the range you entered.

    • Overlapping: This option searches for coordinates where any part of the area is within the range you entered.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Click Next to see the number of search results and optionally refine your search.

  7. Click Finish to open your results in a browse list.
