Measurement Type field
The Measurement Type field records the type of measurement, such as height, width, weight, or dimensions.
How this field works
This field connects to the Measurement Type file.
Each measurement type has its own default units. For example, the measurement type weight might have grams as its default unit, and the type height might have millimeters as its default unit.
The term you enter in the Measurement Type field controls the type of data that will be accepted by the associated Measurement Reading field. It also controls the way that data will be displayed on screen and in reports, and the way it is indexed for retrieval in search. For example, if a measurement type of height is used, the default units for the height type will be used, for example centimeters.
