Measurement Reading field

The Measurement Reading field records the actual measurement of an object, packing unit, or person.

How this field works

Enter the reading in the format defined by the term entered in the Measurement Type field. For example, if the Measurement Type is Dimensions (HxWxD), enter the reading in the format height x width x depth, such as 270mm x 150mm x 20mm.

The primary display unit for that Measurement Type (for example, millimetres or centimetres) will default into the field. For example, if the primary display unit is millimetres, mm will default into the field at the end of the reading. If a secondary display unit is specified in the Measurement Type record, the reading will be converted and this secondary reading will display in brackets next to the primary reading. For more information, see Display Units fields.

The Measurement Reading field for hazards or the Risk Management activity records the quantity of a hazardous substance within an object, set of objects, or collection. For example, grams of mercury, or percentage of asbestos.
