Learn how to run a report using an existing template.

Run a report with Quick Reports

You can quickly run reports if your organisation has set up standard reports or if you have marked a report template as a favourite in Portfolio.

  1. Open a record or browse list.

  2. Go to the Report menu and then click Quick Reports.

  3. If you have a browse list open, Vernon CMS will ask if you want to use the browse list, or just the current record.

    • Select Yes to use the browse list.

    • Select No to use the current record.

  4. Select a report template and click OK.

  5. Choose whether you would like this report to be on the screen, printed, or saved to a file.

  6. Click OK.

Run a report with the Reporting tool

  1. Click Report on the toolbar to open the Reporting tool.

  2. On the Report Template tab, select a report template from the Recent, Standard, or My Favourites tab. Or click More Templates to select one from Portfolio.

  3. On the Record Selection tab:

    • If you had records open when you opened the Reporting tool, you’ll see a count of your records.

    • If you didn’t have records open, or you’d like to report on different records, click List Manager or Search to select records.

    • If you don’t select any records, the report will run on the whole file.

  4. Click Run Report and choose the output:

    • Screen – to open the report on screen.

    • Export – to export the data (Export and XML Export report types).

    • Output to File – to save the report in Windows File Explorer.

    • Print – to send the report to the printer.
