User Views window

The User Views window is a read-only view of a record.

How this window works

Sometimes you only want to view key information from a record. A "user view" is a single customised view of certain fields in one place.

The Object file has five default user views:

  • Catalogue (Core Details)

  • Conservation

  • Registrarial (Core Details)

  • Registrarial (Full Details)

  • All Fields

All other files contain one default user view: All Fields.

How to use this window

  1. Open a record.

  2. Open the User Views window from the Navigator.

  3. Click Select View.

  4. Select a user view and click OK.

User views in the Object file

These are the default fields in the views that are already set up in Vernon CMS. Your organisation may have changed them.

Catalogue (Core Details) user view

This user view contains a read-only view of the following fields:

  • Accession Number

  • System ID

  • Other ID

  • Name/Title

  • Primary Maker (name & role)

  • Brief Description

  • Primary Production Place

  • Primary Production Date

  • Current Location (main details)

  • Browser online collection link

Conservation user view

This user view contains a read-only view of the following fields:

  • System ID

  • Accession Number

  • Name/Title

  • Brief Description

  • Department

  • Collection

  • Classification

  • Item Count

  • Number of Parts

  • Parts (full details)

  • Media/Materials Description

  • Media/Materials (full details)

  • Support Description

  • Size Category

  • Measurement Description

  • Measurement (Metric & Imp, Y&N Display)

  • Current Condition Description

  • Condition (full details)

  • Treatment (full details)

Registrarial (Core Details) user view

This user view contains a read-only view of the following fields:

  • Accession Number

  • Name/Title

  • Classification

  • Department

  • Location History

Registrarial (Full Details) user view

This user view contains a read-only view of the following fields:

  • System ID

  • Accession Number

  • Accession Date

  • Procedural Status

  • Record Status

  • Name/Title

  • Brief Description

  • Controlling Institution

  • Department

  • Collection

  • Other ID

  • Usual Location (full details)

  • Current Location (main details)
