Signature/Marks field

The Signature/Marks field records the of exact text of any signature or inscription, or a description of a maker's mark or other mark.

Examples

• For an actual signature or inscription, you might record G. Preston '87 or For my beloved, exactly as it appears on the object.

• For a maker's mark stamped into the bottom of a porcelain plate, you might record your own description, such as Four-pointed crown with the letters GB below.

Reporting on this field

This is how to select this field in Reporting.

• Select Signature/Marks (full details Y display only) to report on only the rows that have the Display marked as Yes.

• Select Signature/Marks (full details Y&N display) to report on all rows.
