Part Reference field

The Part Reference field specifies which part of an object you are referring to.

Examples

Sometimes it is necessary to refer to individual parts of an object separately. For example, the frame of a painting may need a conservation treatment. Or you may need to record that one cup in a tea set is badly chipped and shouldn't be used for exhibitions.

How this field works

Part Reference fields appear in many tables throughout Vernon CMS.

Part Reference fields connect with the Object Part, Name, and Description fields that are defined in the Object - Identification window on the Media, Measurement tab.

Click into the field and press Alt+F1 on your keyboard to open the pop-up window with the internal field names.

Searching on this field

Use a Select Statement.

Reporting on this field

This is how to select this field in Reporting.

• Field (Across the page) reports: Select the field that refers to the part.

• Group (Down the page) reports: Expand the name of the table and then select Part.

You can only sort on the Valuation Part field.
