User-defined fields
You can create a user-defined field for use in Vernon Browser. For example, a description that is just for public access and is distinct from the brief description. Your system supervisor can enable the user defined field for you.
For more information, see Create a user-defined field.
Calculated fields
You can also use calculated fields to change how Browser will present the data. Calculated fields are called User Symbolics in Vernon CMS. We can help you create them.
For example:
-
For data in the Department field, a department may several different levels within it. You may want each of those to appear as separate links or buttons on the website.
-
For the Classification field, you might want to split a species name from a genus so that you can show genus as a link on the website.
For more information, see User Symbolics.
