How light exposure recording works
You can record lux information on Location records, and then see an object's light exposure on the Object record.
Why record light exposure?
Some objects can be very sensitive to light. Over time, exposure to ultra-violet rays can cause damage to objects (such as fading or increased brittleness). Paint, dyes, and plastic can be the most sensitive to light damage. You can measure the amount of light (lux units) a location receives with a lux meter, then enter this information in Vernon to track the light an object is exposed to over time.
Recording lux information for a location
You record the light exposure on the Location record. You can enter the lux units, start date, end date, and hours per week. Any Object records in that location will have the light exposure recorded for the period they are in that location.

Viewing an object's light exposure
You can view the light an object has been exposed to in various locations over time on the Object record.
If necessary, you can override the lux that is calculated from the location history. This can be useful when an individual object is placed under more or less light than the rest of the location. You can also set maximum lux hours for an object and see the percentage of that maximum that the object has received.
