Report on and clear the movement log

Learn how to improve system performance by clearing the movement log.

Overview

The movement log records changes to object locations. You need to clear the movement log regularly as it takes up storage space. You’ll need to do this more frequently during periods of increased activity, such as relocation or inventory projects.

You should also clear the movement log if you receive the following prompt at login:

Report on the movement log

1. Go to the Report menu and click Movement Log.

2. In the Reporting window:

   1. Select your report type.

   2. Select the fields.

   3. Select formatting.

3. Click Run Report and select your output.

Clear the movement log

Clearing the movement log permanently deletes all the transaction details. It does not delete the location history that is recorded every time an object is moved.

1. Go to the Tools menu, then System Maintenance and then click Clear Movement Log.

2. After reading the warning message, click Yes to clear the movement log.
