Save a search query

You can save a search query that you've constructed so you can open and run it easily in future.

Overview

If you've constructed an elaborate query involving many search criteria, and if the query is one that you're likely going to want to perform again, you can save it for future use in Portfolio. This will save your search criteria, not the results themselves. Therefore, each time you run the saved query it will return current results that reflect any changes in your data.

Saved queries can be shared with other users in Portfolio. Saved queries can also be included in saved report templates, so that when the report is run the saved query is executed as part of the reporting process.

Steps

  1. Click Advanced on the toolbar to open Advanced Search.

  2. Construct your search and run it.

  3. Under Search Results, click Save the current search to open Portfolio.

  4. In Record Name, enter a name for your search and click OK.
