Edit an authority term

When you edit an authority term, it will be updated throughout the whole system.

Steps

  1. With a record open, click into the relevant field, and then click Go To on the toolbar. The authority term window will open.

  2. If the term wasn’t already in the field, enter it into the Search bar and press Enter.

  3. Edit the term.

  4. Click Save.

Note: If the term is hierarchical, and you're changing its position in the hierarchy, you need to edit its Next Higher Term, and its Narrower Term. For more information, see Create relationships between authority terms.
