Log out and lock out users
You can log out users remotely and lock them out so that you can perform system maintenance such as upgrades and indexing.
Log out users
You can log a user out if the user has no unsaved changes or open windows.
-
Go to Tools > Utilities > User List.
-
The User List shows a list of logged in users, along with ID of the workstation they are using and the date and time they logged in.
-
Optional: If the users have a Person record with an email, you can click Email Users to email all users asking them to log out.
-
-
Select a user to log out by clicking the appropriate row in the User List.
-
Click Log Out. The system will attempt to log out the selected user and, if successful, they will be removed from the User List.
Lock out users
All users must be logged out before they can be locked out.
-
Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.
-
Tick the Lock Out Users from Access to Vernon CMS checkbox. Users will be unable to log in until this checkbox is unticked, or you log out of Vernon CMS.
