Edit a security group

You can change the users, superior groups, and subordinate groups for a security group.

Steps

  1. Go to Tools > System Maintenance > Security Tool.

  2. Click Groups.



  3. With the Group Security window open, in the search bar, enter the name of the group and press Enter. Or click Advanced on the toolbar to select from a list of your groups.

  4. Edit the group:

    • To add a user, next to the Users field, click Add, then select the username and click OK.

    • To remove a user, in the Users field, select the username and click Remove.

    • To add a superior group or subordinate group, click Add, then select the group and click OK.

      • A superior group can do everything your current group can do.

      • Your current group can do everything its subordinate group can do.

    • To remove a superior group or subordinate group, select the group and click Remove.

      • If you remove a subordinate group, your current group loses all the rights it inherited from that group.

      • You can add those rights manually to your group record.

  5. Click Save.
