How public access works

You can share your collection in Vernon CMS with other applications to let the public access it or to avoid manual data entry.

How the data is shared and kept updated

You choose which files, records and fields should be published by flagging them in Vernon CMS and exporting the data as a report. You then set up the third-party application as a 'listener' in the Web Messenger tool.

Web Messenger sends the data in packages to your application. When you edit and save a published record, it keeps a list of the changes to be processed and automatically packages and sends the changes to your application in real-time.

Examples of applications

  • Vernon Browser

  • Website content management systems

  • Digital asset management systems

  • Location tracking software

  • Mobile applications
