Set up Vernon CMS on a desktop

Learn how to run Vernon CMS on a desktop.

Steps

  1. Log on to the workstation using a log on with full administrator rights. If you do not usually have full administrator rights, you may need to get your IT staff to arrange this for you.

  2. Navigate to your Wincoll folder on the server. This is the folder that contains all of the Vernon CMS files.

  3. Go to Wincoll > Client, right-click on VCMS-ClientSetup.exe and select Run as administrator.

  4. The Vernon CMS Client Setup Wizard will open. Click Next.

  5. On the Setup Options screen, select the components to install on the workstation, then click Next.

    1. Vernon CMS Components is mandatory.

    2. Optional: Select Desktop Icon to install a shortcut icon on the desktop to launch Vernon CMS.

    3. Optional: Select Start Menu to create a Programs submenu called Vernon Systems.

    4. Optional: Select Disable Ghosting to turn off the Not Responding white-out when Vernon CMS is busy.

  6. On the Select Vernon CMS Location screen, enter the location of the Wincoll folder.

  7. Click Setup to complete the installation.
