Update authority term usage in bulk

You can update the usage of many authority terms with the Bulk Update of Term Usage Control tool.

Steps

  1. Go to the Tools menu, then Authority Tool, then click Bulk Update of Term Usage Control.

  2. Under Records To Update, in the on (file) field, enter the file to apply the bulk update on. For example, Location.

  3. Optional: In List, enter a list name or click Options to select one from Portfolio. If you don’t enter a list, the update will apply to all records.

  4. Select one or both of these options:

    • Select Update usage attribute, then select one of these options:

      • Usable

      • Not Usable

      • Retrievable, but not Usable

    • Select Update delete attribute, then select one of these options:

      • Allow Deletion

      • Prevent Deletion

  5. Click Update.
